Well, back to food then.

New Meal

Jacobs Utvalgte Pastasaus Chillie 2 tbs

Saritas tandoori med ingefær … 1,5 tbs

Santa Marias Grillkrydder

1 cup of boiled rice

1/2 cup of Paprika

1/4 cup of peas

1/4 cup of corn 1tbs of Cream Fresh

1 piese of sliced white chease and some Tinte Taffel Tomatoo chease.

1 Flover tortilla.

Put everything in a bowl and boil untill done, fill the flover tortilla (for an easy breakfast tomorrow), and eat the rest out of the pan you cooked it in so that it stays hot.

The Burito tastes ok, but when you eat the stew directly out of the pan it’s cuite good.

Perfekt for vegetereanere.

Once Upon A time has become a money making machine.

Once Upon A Time, Season 3-finale: What a twist! (No spoilers)

I sat for about 20 minutes thinking, well that’s one problem after another solved. This will be the Final episode in this series.
Then during the last minute of the episode I find out that that’s not the case. There will be a season 4 (And it will contain Elsa, winter princess from the movie Frozen.)!

I’m happy that I will get to see more great and complicated content in the future, but I’m also pissed. This episode had an incredible ending to the series. An ending it deserved.

It feels like the creators of this series want to continue for one reason alone, money (“People still watch it, so let’s make another season.”). The series should have stopped with this episode.

I will watch the next season, as well. I only hope that profits are not prioritized over the plot of the story, once again.

God pastarett ferdig på 10 minutter:

Dette er den beste pastaretten jeg har smakt på lang tid. Den er lett og rask å lage. Det tar deg kun 10-15 minutter å lage denne retten.

Sopp fullkorn makaroni

Prior Økologisk egg (medium/large)

Eldorado Rød pesto (tomat og chili)

Synnøve gulost (enten vanlig eller mild)

Jozu havsalt (Gourmet/finmalt)

Hindu Økologisk malt sort pepper

Santa Maria Grillkrydder

Kok opp Sopp fullkorn makaroni, deretter la det småkoke i 6 minutter.

Drain the water, and keep the macaroni in the drainer

This Essay Earned me an A (my only A in 13th grade), in International English (Karakter: 6)

LEDCs and MEDCs;

GDP is used to define a country’s income, wealth produced by its citizens as well as income from taxes within that country. The GDP of Norway increased by about two percent between 2009 and 2010 (according to worldbank.org). We can therefore say that Norway had a significant economic growth from 2009 to 2010. Economic development, on the other hand, is used to define how “industrial” a country is. Norway is a MEDC (More Economic Developed County), which means we use machines in farming, have big factories and so on. It is said that a MEDC provides its citizens with better living conditions than a LEDC (Less Economic Developed Country). It is important not to confuse the two.

The distribution of wealth is becoming increasingly unfair within MEDC’s. Since 1935 we have experienced a u-curve. This is something we can see clearly if we look at the income share of the top 1 %. It started at 12 % around 1955 and went down to about 6 % in the 70’s. We call this the great levelling. It needs to be understood that this affected politics in the United Kingdom (and most other countries in the western world). Politicians in the UK feared that we were becoming too communistic. They thought we needed a greater difference between the salaries for the well-educated (nobility/higher class) and the people in the middle/lower class (who might not even have graduated from college).

Due to this change in political and social attitude, the top 1 % of the UK’s population now has almost 15% of the income share, and their salaries are increasing at four times the rate of the lower 10 %. Politicians did this, because they thought they would increase the wealth of their countries, productivity and investment. Sadly this 30+ year experiment has not worked. Productivity and investment has fallen since the 1970’s. This is according to Economist Stewart Lansley. The above shows us why inequality has become one of the most important political issues of our time.

Just look at the picture of the boat, it is sinking because the lower classes do not get enough money to scrape by, while the upper class fly around in private jets. Sure the upper and upper middle-class is doing ok, above the water-line, but how will they do when the entire structure of among other things farmers (steel on boat) and truck drivers (concrete on boat) disappears under their feet? We need to wake up and realize that wages and profits are interconnected and that they rise and fall together. The only way the fat guy at the top can keep his ship afloat is if he decreases his own salary and redistributes that money to the people “working on the ground”, the middle/lower-class, and the people drowning in the picture.

Just like there is inequality within a country there is also inequality on a global scale. According to National Journal, Bill Gates is the richest person alive, with a net worth of more than 76 billion dollars. He earns 112 dollars a second if we are to believe Rock S. from Yahoo. That’s more than many people in Africa earn in a week. There are currently about 800 million people in the developing world that live on less than 1.25$ a day according to a BBC News report by Ruth Alexander.
The western world is essentially treating the developing countries’ citizens as slaves. There are of course people within these countries who have more than enough to cover their needs. One example is educated people who own the factories that exploit their workers. The reason they behave in such a manner is because a big MNC (Multi National Company) asks them to produce a product at a really low cost, so that the MNC may sell their products at a competitive price. The big MNCs are not interested in getting their hands dirty, so they get their company in the LEDCs to sign a contract that says that all of that company’s employees shall be treated responsibly and be given a fair salary. The small company owner feels pressured to sign such a contract. If he refuses the MNCs will just find another supplier. This kind of exploitation should not be happening. You can help stop this kind of exploitation by, among other things, buying Fair Trade products.

In many cases it is more economically rewarding for farmers in LEDCs to sell the little food they produce to the West, than it is to sell it locally or eat it themselves. The corn that might feed a family for weeks to come is therefore sent to a factory in Europe that produces bio-fuel so that a Western family might feel good about themselves for polluting less. This is what the picture of the fat, well-dressed man taking a corn from a poor farmer clearly illustrates.

The world population was 3 billion in 1960. Now it is more than 7 billion. The population in China has grown from 550 million in 1950, to 1.3 billion in 2010. Both the world population and the population of China are expected to rise for years to come. The only planet we currently know of that can support life is our own.

In the 1960’s there was 1 billion people living in the industrialized part of the world and 2 billion people living in the developing world, and they were separated by a great gap. In Sweden people were saving to buy a new car, while people in the developing world had to save money for a new pair of shoes. In the Western world there has been an enormous economic growth the last 60 years so that now people are not happy just getting a car, they also want to fly on holidays to remote areas, such as Orlando, Greece and China.

China is one of the world’s biggest emerging economies. As we go down the line we find other emerging economies, where 3 billion people are saving for a new bike, or a motorcycle. The poorest 2 billion people are still saving for shoes. The distance between the richest part of the world and the poorest is greater than ever, but the gap has been filled by the 4 billion people in between. According to Hans Rosling the population growth will continue, so that there will be 4 billion people living in poverty in 2050, while the entire world population is estimated at 9 billion people.

The only way to stop population growth in these countries is if they by some miracle get an education and have enough money to spend, as well as saving for a new bike. We need to increase the child survival to at least 90%. Only then will people start family planning, and therefore bear fewer children. It is only by increasing child survival that we can stop population growth, and we need to do so before it is too late. The Earth has finite resources so the 9 billion population of 2050 needs to be careful how they use those resources. Just because you get more stuff does not mean that you will become happy. Just look at the picture of the guy standing on top of washing machines, cars, airplanes, credit cards etc. What is he saying? “Shit. I’m still not happy…”

It is important that we remove economic growth as a target, and replace it with economic development. Economic development of all countries. Only through economic growth in the poorest sections of the world may we stop the population growth. We also need to invent and use environmentally friendly technologies; technologies that can help us exploit our resources in a more efficient manner. This way we can keep wild areas wild, and still have enough farms to feed the entire population. We must become more equal to each other, because the only way we can improve the life of the lower 2 billion is if we take some of the excessive wealth from the top 1 billion. As said before we have finite resources so the money given to the lower 2 billion must be taken from somewhere.

2013 May: Mikkel: Til US State Department ad FIEAs «Termination Letter»

Dear Sirs and Madams,

We have previously sent a complaint about Forte International Exchange Association’s (FIEA) mistreatment of our son Mikkel Adrian Almenningen (2012 Oct 19). We have also sent a mail regarding the way FIEA have broken the regulations set by the State Department (2013 Jan 26).

We wish to illustrate the many lies told by FIEA about Mikkel through some of the claims made in their Termination Letter. FIEA’s claims are in cursive.

After this incident, the current host family, the :::::, were afraid for Mikkel to be around their children as he began acting “weird.” Mikkel had been accused of putting paint in the children’s hair, kicking the children, pushing them, and ordering the host parents to clean and vacuum.

When it comes to the accusations of putting paint in the children’s hair, both Mikkel and the two teen-age girls painted each other’s hair at the theater where Mikkel ended up having to spend all of his afternoons and week-ends so he would not have to stay in the Moe house alone. At the time, both girls laughed at the idea that Mikkel had done something bad.

Mikkel does not have any memory of kicking anyone. The only thing he could even remotely link to this statement would be when he managed to step on some toes while hugging the girls.

Mikkel did suggest that they could all clean the house – there was great need. When the host-parents told him no, he suggested that he, himself, clean it. They bluntly refused him. So Mikkel did the best he could and cleaned his own room.

The most upsetting action done by Mikkel was in front of his host siblings, where he would put his finger to his head like a gun and act like he was shooting  himself.

Maggie Simpson illustrates our point about the ridiculousness of this statement perfectly: Watch 5:30-6:00http://gorillavid.in/x59mdffkr1ge

During one occasion on the way home from school, Mikkel asked his host dad, Malcolm, if Malcolm ever had dark thoughts. Malcolm questioned Mikkel what he meant by “dark thoughts”, but Mikkel said he couldn’t tell him because of Malcolm’s response. There was another incident where Mikkel saw a posting on Facebook about suicide and made the comment of “if you are going to commit suicide, you don’t talk about it, you don’t say anything, you just do it.”

All of these lies make me angry. I cannot believe how untruthful FIEA have been. This last claim is a perfect example. See below facebook conversation:

September 20

:::::: ok im ready to die but i caint pull the triger whow wants to do it for me”

:::::: “wow, i thought i had it bad. life cant be that hard… can it?”

“(Mike’s comment): (name) you have one of the kindest hearts I know and you have an amazing opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people around you. You should watch Man on Fire starring Denzel Washington. Great movie. God bless!”

:::::: “Spelling!”

:::::: “hey (name)? i aint seen u in a while, but i would like to, so don’t do anything drastic.”

::::::: “Let’s have a little talk tonight! I have enough dead people in my cast an yyou aren’t supposed to be one of ‘em!

::::::: “don’t do it”

(Mikkel’s comment): “i know that this is a despirate kry for help. i also know that you are not going to do that. because the people who take their own life do it without telling anyone about it. talk to me if you want to compare storryes or lifes. you or i will find out that our life is not that hard.”

(Mikkel’s comment): “i just talked to him. (name) what the hell is wrong with you. this is not something you are kidding about. i was woried. delite this post imidiately! sent from the crossing.”

Mikkel had phoned his friend (name withheld for privacy reasons) to see if they could talk about what was bothering his friend. That was when he discovered that his friend had been kidding.

For one think Mike – the host-father – was part of the facebook conversation (see above). Whether he or Becky Sanderson were lying about this event, is irrelevant to me. I tend to think that with her track-record, it is Becky who is the guilty one. The way FIEA misrepresent so completely what happened is both cruel and self-serving.

Whenever a student expresses such signs of abnormal behavior, Forte takes it very seriously. Which is why our area director, Becky Sanderson, called Mikkel and had a conversation with him on whether or not he was depressed. Mikkel did open up to Becky and said he was depressed and had suicidal thoughts. Mikkel also admitted he needed help. After that conversation, Becky felt Mikkel would be a danger to himself and was showing signs of mental illness and needed professional help. At the same time, the host parents felt Mikkel would be dangerous around their children and would either hurt himself or their children. The :::::: family no longer feels comfortable with having Mikkel in their home.

I have no doubt Mikkel was a little depressed by this time. But at no time did he, himself, express suicidal thoughts. This was one of the things Forte tried to get his families to sign off on, but did not succeed despite pressuring them. See below facemails from :::::: – first host-father:

10/15-2012: Conversation between Mikkel and ::::::

::::::: Everything you are doing to fight this company is causing drama for the families here that may or may not care about you. We are being asked to sign something that says Forte did not take you out of a home that wanted you there. I have not read the actual paper yet, so I do not know if what it says is true enough for me to sign. I do know this…yes, we wanted you to stay. Forte did not make the decision to take you from this home that wanted you. You, yourself wanted to leave a home that wanted you. And while that is perfectly okay to want to leave somewhere, it somewhat defeats you’re argument that the company treated you wrong by pulling you out of homes. You also did it yourself, and had your reasons. I don’t know all that happened with other families, but if the company made the decision for you to leave their homes, I’m certain they had their reasons just as you did when you decided to leave our home. I’m not going to lie for you or for the company or for anyone. I guess is what I am trying to say is fight the company if you want, but could you leave me out of it somehow and quit causing us drama? I see the good in everyone, and you’re not a bad guy, but I am starting to regret that we let you come stay with us.

And :::::: continues on 10/16-2012

::::::: Forte is trying to get me to make written statements about anything that will help them with their case. I don’t like what they are doing or what you are doing as I am getting stuck in the middle. I wasn’t trying to be mean Mikkel. I was even told not to talk to you at all. I just had to state that for the record. I will be honest and say this…I don’t trust Forte and I don’t trust you. I don’t hand out trust easily, and I know how one can keep enemies close for certain reasons. I did not tell them you wanted to kill yourself fyi. They have tried to get me to make statements against you and I refused. I wrote something that would not help them or you and shouldn’t have hurt either, but apparently they believe if it won’t help them win they can leave out certain truths. I just want out of it, but I had to tell you that for record purposes. I’m sorry if anything I have to do hurts you, but it can’t always be helped.

After discussion among management at Forte, due to Mikkel’s current mental stability, admittance to depression, and thoughts of suicide, we feel he should be dismissed early from the exchange program to seek professional, psychological help in his home country with his natural parents. Forte cannot shoulder that burden onto our host family to endure. Although our host families agree to host our exchange students, they should not have to deal with the effects of what depression does to a teenager.

Forte have behaved despicably throughout Mikkel Adrian’s stay. How he could have been placed with the families that he was and how on earth FIEA could possibly keep on letting Becky Sanderson get her claws into kids who are supposed to get a good impression of the US is unbelievable. Why has she not been held responsible for her actions? Into Education are no better for having supported FIEA through the whole process. Amazing that companies that claim to keep our children safe do such a poor job of it.

Please do something about this situation. Exchange students coming to the US need to feel safe, not used and abused.

The Wars of Media and why you?re getting brainwashed.

The Wars of Media and why you?re getting brainwashed.

I had a school pressentation, and the I started the presentation with a two minute long film. So if you want to check it out please press the link.

The Wars of Media and why you?re getting brainwashed.

All media is trying to brainwash you, I will explain this in further detail so just keep on reading.

In ?This is England? the main character had a conflict with himself about what it meant to be British, or English if you prefer. My task was ?Present two or more different English-speaking media and discuss how they shape the opinion of the international community.?

If the population of the UK in the 1980?s was unable to have one common opinion, I do not see how I?m supposed to find out what the opinion of the international community is. I don?t even know if we can say there is an international community that all people belong to. If there is one, it has to be Facebook or YouTube. They both have more than 1 billion regular users across the whole world, except from China that is. Other countries ruled by dictators probably also ban Facebook.

I will look into several English speaking media. All of them have different points of view. One of the mediums I?ll talk about is CNN vs. BBC.

As previously stated if I have to mention an international community it would be Facebook or YouTube. So let?s have a look at how Facebook has contributed to the revolutions in the Middle East, Egypt and Syria.

This is information gathered from a YouTube video by vlogbrothers.

A long time ago some Europeans sat down to draw lines on a map of Africa and the surrounding areas. They gave one of the marked areas the name Syria and it suddenly turned into a country. Later the USSR stole Syria. Many years later Facebook allowed different communities to communicate effectively. This is one of the factors responsible for the revolution in Syria, where a strong minority fights a disenfranchised majority.

The International media, CNN among others, ignored the demonstrations in Syria for a long time. No major news firm informed the International Community (which in this instance is a long list of countries like Norway, Canada and the UK) that demonstrators were put in jail. This led to more demonstrations and the demonstrators were killed by the military as ordered by their current president. Few countries cared that this led to the torture of loved once.

The International Media finally started caring when the Syrian military started using chemical weapons against its citizens. President Obama of the US had warned the Syrian president that if he did this then something ?. Something happened, Russia used its veto power against the UN interfering. The Syrian president ended up giving the chemical weapons to Russia, so that the Russian president finally got to wear his good diplomat hat.

Just like in Syria, Facebook has played an important role in the Egyptian revolution. Egypt has four powerhouses: The old regime, The Muslim Brotherhood, The Egyptian Military and the revolutionary individuals.

The Egyptian military is immune to the Egyptian laws, and are therefore in control of 40% of the Egyptian economy and have huge factories run by free labor. Hussain Mubarak and the Old Regime managed to piss off the three other powerhouses in Egypt. Then, the internet and Facebook arrived, and his regime was no longer able to control the information flow through censorship.

The imperialists and the Muslim brotherhood starts demonstrating. Hussain goes to the military and says we have a problem here. They reply ?No not really?. After a while the Egyptian military removes Hussain from office with force.

The conflict continues because the Muslim brotherhood and the Egyptian military rushed the election of a new president so that the Egyptian people did not have time to make a new constitution. The person elected became a new dictator and the Egyptian military removed him from office as well. This may be the strangest military coup of all time, a coup that is supported by a lot of people. The military installs the head of the constitutional court as the interim president.

A Facebook group led to millions of demonstrators in the streets and a military coup. It changed the opinion of many local communities, perhaps even the international community.

Alternate History:

Alternate history science fiction is about the way things might have turned out. TV14v on YouTube show such a history and has a pretty large community of interested people. The show I?m going to present is about Hitler and what could have happened:

Commercials are trying to brainwash you, or change your opinion about their products. Just like Hitler tried to change the view of the German population through propaganda. The American media said that some of their captured forces where brainwashed during the cold way. All the enemy did was change the opinion of the captured American forces. This begs the question. Did the US use media as a vepond of warning to stop other countries from becoming communist, and was this the start of English being the standard for international media?

So what would have happened with America if Germany won WW2? You might say this would not happen, but it might if two of history?s turning points had turned another way. Hitler failed to realize the tactical advantages of the Messersmith. The Messersmith had a machinegun as well as a cannon, and could go twice as fast as the airplanes of the allied forces. The Messersmith was being tested 3 years before D-day and if Nazi-Germany would have mass-produced it, they would probably have won D-day and then been able to bomb all the allied boats in the English Channel.

Hitler started testing ballistic missiles in 1942. He could have put an atomic warhead inside of two of them and made Boston and New York our Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Germans did after all start development of atomic bombs 3 years before the Americans in 1941, but Hitler did not see their potential, and therefore underfunded the projects.

If the US surrenders unconditionally, suicide increases rapidly as Americans refuse to live under Nazi rule. The international community will not be the same as today and it will not be for a very long time.

Hitler takes control of all American media channels and uses them for propaganda. America becomes a mass producing super power, with lots of factories run by slaves like gays, blacks and Jews. As technology develops, the internet arrives. It?s a government-controlled internet. The internet grows out of Hitler?s control, and resistance movements develop. Just like in Egypt and Syria the internet plays an important role in the new American Revolution.

The console war:

Now let?s have a look at commercials, another English speaking medium. Microsoft vs- Sony, PS vs. Xbox.

Microsoft came up with the concept Xbox Live, this is a service that enables people to talk to each other while they play together, you may talk to your friends even while playing different games (cross-game chat). Most blockbuster games and games in general are published in English, that?s also the most common language spoken on Xbox Live, as well as on other platforms. This improves the English skills of gamers. I know one person that has learned English this way, not by attending school, but trough online gaming. Online gaming is even newer than the internet (as it has to be since it?s a service that requires an internet connection).

Microsoft sold the Xbox 360 to its brand loyalists, and got a huge part of the market share due to a premature realize. The premature realize resulted in a lot of problems with the console like the ?red ring of death?.

One year later the PS3 arrived, but mom and dad had already bought little Tom a 360, so it struggled in the beginning, no matter its superior technology. Japan is known to improve on American concepts.

The PS3 ages like fine wine, and shows its best projects at the end of its life cycle. People who bought a 360 are now buying the PS4 because it?s more powerful and Sony seems more trustworthy.

Microsoft saw this coming and has therefore marketed the Xbox One as an all in one console. Gamers will probably buy a PS4, but that doesn?t bother Microsoft at all. They have come up with a new concept. So as Sony is adapting cross-game chat, Microsoft includes services like using Skype while playing a game. People will learn English this way. The English speaking media will grow through the medium of game consoles.

The Fox:

As you?ve probably already understood there is no one international opinion, and there are many English speaking medias, also outside countries where English is the Native tongue, like Norway. TheFox is a music video made by The Ylvis Brothers as part of a TVN program. It has been seen by about 260 million people as of the 1st of December 2013. That?s 10 million more than last week. It has 2.43 million likes and 261 000 dislikes.

Let?s put that number, 260 million into perspective. Norway has a population of 5.1 million, while the US has a population of 317 million. If said views were citizens in a country, it would be the 4th biggest country out of 242 on the planet TELLUS. The Fox just got spread by word of mouth.

Are You Tubers Revolutionizing Entertainment?

YouTube has many big communities and even more sub-communities. Almost anyone who watches YouTube can make a YouTube video. The content has a superfast feedback loop, comments and likes. It has made people rethink how they talk to a camera, as you now can publish movies on your own. We have access to many million YouTube channels and can therefore watch what we want when we want. ?YouTube has been totally disruptive for the media business?. YouTube networks like Machinema has evolved. YouTube fosters a very rich community. YouTube is the biggest development in the Entertainment Industry since the creation of TV-Channels.

News Firms:

BBC is a more reliable news source than Fox news or CNN it?s controlled by a council to ensure it delivers natural rather than bias news. BBC or British Broadcasting Corporation is the world?s oldest national broadcasting organization with a 23,000 staff. It?s funded like NRK. Everyone with a TV in the UK pays a fee. BBC World News is a part of this organization. BBC is available in 274 million households compared to CNN?s 200 million. BBC is owned by The Crown (publicly owned).

CNN is Democratic and funded by commercials. CNN usually devotes many hours of airtime to the U.S. presidential elections. Chief political correspondent Candy Crowley acted as moderator for one of the three debates between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. Some say she has been overly biased due to her attempts at correcting statements by both candidates on the 2012 Benghazi consulate attack.

Fox News runs Republican advertisement and is funded by commercials.

All three TV-channels influence people?s opinion.

Conclusion:I conclude that there is no single International community, and that different communities both online and in the real world have different views on most subjects. There will always be individuals of a different opinion than the community they live in.

All media is propaganda, that?s why Hitler was so successful in changing the opinion of his population. He had monopoly on all media channels, and dealt with the individuals who presented their own point of view swiftly. If he would have conquered the US the English speaking media would probably never be the same again, and German would probably be the world language. Our history books would have been different as well, as they would have been made by Hitler and his allies, not the allied forces.

As the internet has developed not even China with its 10.000+ staff is able to control all media that enters their borders.
